An extremely beautiful and grand hotel with some luxurious extra "spices". Though from the outside it doesn't maybe appear as such when you arrive for the first time.
This hotel feels new and lush and the quality of the building standard is very high throughout the hotel.
We had an executive room and with that follows access to the executive lounge, which was wonderful - nice food, all sorts of beverages and pastries from early morning to late evening in the beautifully decorated lounge. It was great watching the evening hockey games there.
The room was spacious and comfortable and very tastefully furnished/decorated. Complimentary wi-fi is always appreciated!! The only thing I experienced as negative was the mattress, which was very hard. I mentioned this while checking out and they said they could have fixed it had I called about it during the stay. So keep this in mind!
You also might want to ask for a room facing the river 'cause the alternative is heavily trafficked road view.
On the top floor is situated one of the most beautiful spa area's I have seen so far (I travel a lot and stay only at 5* hotels) with a very large swimming pool and a real full-sized gym, with a magnificent view looking over the river and Bratislava countryside. This place is perfect for hard training and total relaxation!
The breakfast was very nice, it is basically what you expect from a 5* hotel breakfast. Huge selection of sausages though :) In my opinion they could have had bit more vegetables. If you'd like some waffles or pancakes, ask for them separately from the chef, they don't advertise the possibility of having them anywhere.
The Rolls Royce service was just outstanding, have never heard of such before. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is located just by the river and the proximity to the centre and old city is in my opinion good, It takes app. 10-15 min by foot. I didn't mind the walk along the river on a good weather like we had.
Overall we had a superb stay at Kempinski. If I was to return to Bratislava someday, I will definately stay here again!
