The staff in the NH Collection hotels I have stayed in has always been fab. Super service-minded and attentive - a five star experience. At Amsterdam Barbizon Palace, staff was just that. The room was lovely with a view over the canal. Bright room with french doors to let the atmosphere in. I liked the layout with a stair in the room leading to the wardrobes, desk and bathroom. But would not work for people with mobility issues. Lovely large bed and nice comfortable chairs. Modern and clean design, but always with function. Had a few technical issues the was quickly sorted. With one exception - the wifi was not very stable. It came and went from one minute to another. From a normal 4 Mbit to 0,1 Mbit and the up to 18(!). Periodically no connection at all. Tech support was addressing the problem twice but problem returned throughout the stay. Hopefully that is part of the renovation that was going on during my visit.
