We stayed four nights at Atlante Garden Hotel in Rome in October. The Hotel was dated and the photos of the rooftop at the website were misleading since they were actually referring to their sister hotel. Reception staff were friendly, breakfast was good and the area conveniant but the service at this hotel did not live up to what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. First, my husband was unable to get an iron sent to the room since the hotel only had one (1) iron and it was currently lost. There was no ironing room or other way of solving this problem. The reception did send us a bottle of Prosecco to make up for this which was nice but I would still expect a hotel to be able to cater for needs such as ironing. Secondly, on a rainy day we asked to borrow an umbrella but the hotel did not have any. Finally, on the day of our departure we ordered a taxi to the airport and asked to be able to pay with card, which we were promised we could. The taxi driver did not accept card with caused problems. These are small things that are quite easily fixed that we would expect a hotel to be able to help us with. In addition, the room that we had facing the street was very noisy, if possible I would ask for a room on the side of the hotel.
