Hua Ting Hotel and towers, close to the Shanghai Stadium, is an older property (1986) and still breaths the old time flair. I really like the exterior with the lovely water feature, the lobby with a nice bar and a relatively decent , but expensive, restaurant (lunch over 200 RMB per person excluding drinks) and the gym with its pool area. Except that, this hotel isn't worth returning to. The first room I got had a bathroom with extensive mould. After asking if 800 RMB a night won't give me a better standard than that, the lobby manager gave me another, "better" room. The second room didn't have mould in the bathroom, otherwise it looked the same as room number one. Additionally, the room lacked ventilation, the air conditioning basically don't work, there's second to none in-room wifi and the entire room has a smell of dust. The breakfast is another ~ 200 RMB extra. Didn't try it. I won't return to this hotel before they do a complete refurbishment.
