Elios hotel has a general high standard and the room I had was good. The cleaning was very thorough. The wifi, however, was sometimes a bit slow.
The breakfast buffet was large and of high standard. It is on the top floor and you can enjoy it outside with view over Saigon, if you want. You have to take the stairs from floor 11 to floor 12. This can of course be a problem for elderly or disabled persons.
The gym had a threadmill, a cycle exerciser, a vibrating machine, a general bench and a general and very versatile weight exercise machine.
For the first time at a hotel there were instructions for the machine. It had many accessories and I counted to 18 different exercises to train most parts of your body.
Location very near a party area.
One day I asked the reception to call for a taxi to Cholon (Chinatown) and the doorman should help me. He talked to a driver that were standby and told me it would cost 140 000 VND. It was not much money but more than I expected, so I asked if this was the standard fare, which he confirmed. Btw, I tipped the driver, which I now regret. On my way back I picked a taxi from one of the companies recommended in the guide book (Vinasun taxi). He charged me only half of this price (72 000 VND). It does not matter financially but it is not good customer care.
Btw, if you arrive to Saigon with bus they will often drop you off at their office in district 1. This is just 200 m from the hotel. So don't take any taxi waiting outside the office.
