The hostel is conveniently located close to a metro station, tram 28 and 10 minutes from the city centre. The personel is friendly, helpful and speak a good english. The house is an old, typical portuguese house. Having said that, there was nothing that this hostel can offer to people wanting to have a comfortable vacation. The room we got was extremly dark and humid and full with dust. The worst was the bathroom whose walls were covered with mold, specially where the shower is. Disgusting! You have to pay extra if you want your towels to be changed. Considering the humidity in the room, after two days the smell of the towels was just disgusting. Although the hostel is a non-smokers one, the personel goes out and smokes. People also smokes at the backyard and all the smoke goes up to the rooms. You hear EVERYTHING people do day and night. You hear the personel talking, people climbing stairs, the ventilation system in other bathrooms, everything. There were many youngsters coming back at early hours in the morning, so be prepared to wake up every hour. The breakfast is extremely basic so you better eat something in one of the nice "pastelarias" close to the hostel.
