There were no staff on site at all. It was like the whole place stopped in time several years ago and you are just sleeping in a big house with strangers- on a mattress that must’ve been made at the time the house was originally built it was so uncomfortable and lumpy. It’s sad because someone has given up on this place but it could be a glorious part of Beverley’s tourist industry with a bit of TLC. I wouldn’t stay here again unless someone bought the place and restored it to a former glory. Even the pamphlets were 2 or more years out of date. Beverley was awesome though.

This was my second stay at the Lairgate. I was so impressed by the accommodation on my first visit that recommended it highly. My second stay was a little disappointing. On arrival, everything was excellent but on the second day, housekeeping was not up to acceptable standards. Bins weren’t emptied, crockery was left with tea stains and tea and coffee making items were not adequately replenished. This wouldn’t have been so surprising if our original experience hadn’t been so good.

Everything was good except I had trouble getting through to the hotel staff since there's no one physically at the location. This became an issue when I realized I never received the door code. I tried to call the number but since I have an international number it wouldn't go through. I sent numerous messages through the online portal to no reply. Finally, I borrowed someone's phone and got the code. Overall, it was a good stay but the managers need to sort out their message board responses.

There were plenty of parking spaces available when we arrived after 5pm. Although we didn’t know how to enter the property, once we were in (via another guest) and saw the sign on Reception advising us to call the dedicated number. We then became aware that a Wattsapp message had been sent to my mobile phone advising us of the building entry code, our room number and the safe key code outside our room. The bedroom was on the top floor, accessible by steps and was unlocked on arrival but it was clean and tidy and reminiscent from the wallpaper and furniture of a traditional Victorian bedroom. We liked it a lot. The King size bed of our Comfort room was very good to sleep in and the bathroom had a bath which was appreciated also.
