While I was aware that this was a budget hotel, I was still very disappointed by the status of the hotel. The worst was that the shared bathroom had serious mold problems on the ceiling. I mean dark mold spots covering half the roof. There was also visible water damage in the corridors. The room itself was relatively OK, in line with "British hotel standards" (uneven floor, bad carpeting, etc.) - this is to be expected though, so it didn't bother me. There seemed to be only one person in charge of the breakfast and general check-in/check-out and breakfast was half an hour late one morning (causing problems to some other travelers, who needed to check out early). The security of the hotel was inadequate. The front door was frequently unlocked with no one in the reception (after all, the place is rum by one person, basically, and he can't sit in the reception all the time). The idea was that each guest should lock the lobby door every time you entered or exited, but this was rarely done or forgotten by most. In short, while it's a place where you can spend a night if you have to, I sadly do not recommend this hotel for a longer stay.
