Stayed for three weeks at Cariñas with pretty much zero complaints. Can't overstate the helpfulness of the owners, Ron and Rosemary, who contacted us through Whatsapp well ahead of the trip to check on our plans. During the planning stage and for the entire duration on Aruba they helped out with car rental liaison, advice on activities and a lot of general information about what you can expect on Aruba as a tourist; always friendly. The rooms are in good shape, you're provided with extra beach towels, there's dependable wi-fi and there's a nice yard to lounge in.
The neighbourhood Cariñas is located in is pretrty calm and quiet, and you're within walking distance (5-10 minutes) from the beach, as well as a great many restaurants, shops, cafés and bars/clubs.
It's not that easy to come up with negatives, but here are two possible improvements:
1. There's no pool, so if you don't like the sometimes windy/sandy conditions at the beach but still want to swim, there's no real backup alternative.
2. The water pressure in the shower (at least in our room) was rather weak, making washing out shampoo or getting rid of sand/salt a lengthy process.
All in all though, I can't really overstate how well taken care of we felt during the entire stay, and would recommend Cariñas to anyone.
