We were disappointed with this stay! We had expected a stay at a historic plantation and, yes, the old building (where the owner lives and not the guests) is very beautiful and the park surrounding it marvellous but artificial with its Japanese and Monet inspired parts and more like a well-kept "Disney-park". The 21 rooms are situated by itself in bungalows in the far corner of the premises and you have to order golf-carts to get to breakfast (which is in the opposite corner of the garden) or the reception. Breakfast starts at 08.00 am (problematic if you have a planned flight) and, furthermore, the reception (which is located in an over-sized souvenier boutique) is not open for check-out until 09.00 am. The rooms have high standard and have beautiful furniture but are quite small. The garden is surrounded by an industrial area with a road on one side with trucks running frequently from 04.00 am and on the other side by a railroad. This place is probably nice for a short stop on a bus-tour, see the beautiful house, have lunch and a stroll in the garden. But, if you are looking for a nice historic stay-over the night at a plantation this is not the place - and in our view overprized. We are experienced travellers and have seen several other plantations in the area.
