The Madison lies on a small street just outside of the historical center and the harbor area of Hamburg with walking distance to both. There is not much to say about the hotel itself that ticks most boxes for a good modern city hotel - large, modern rooms that are in really good condition, comfortable beds, a good desk for work and a nice bathroom. We had an extra bed, and it was really good and there was no problems fitting it into the room. The on-site restaurant and bar is good, and offers a good variety of food and drinks, and parking is available in the garage below the hotel. There are some more restaurants available a block away through a small park. The only minor point is that there seem to be some kind of shelter between the park and the hotel, and that there is rater a lot of what appear to be homeless people on the street towards the Park as well as in the Park itself in the evenings, but they did overall seem rather harmless and did not harass us.
