Amalfi Coast

What you need to know before you go

The Amalfi Coast is only about 50 km in length but is one of the most popular travel destinations in Italy. It’s not hard to see why – the charming historical towns atop sheer cliffs, overlooking beautiful beaches and glittering seas, are undoubtedly attractive. So much so, in fact, that the area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The hilly countryside along Italy's west coast is famous for producing the lemons that become limoncello – a potent liqueur. Be sure to try a sip in some of the outstanding Italian restaurants that dot the region. Even so, the Amalfi Coast is mostly known for stunning and exclusive little towns, like Positano, Ravello and Sorrento.
