Hsinchu nightlife is vibrant enough to attract visitors from other regions of Taiwan. There may not be as many pubs and clubs, compared to the bigger cities like Taipei or Kaoshiung, but what you’ll find here are cosy watering holes, charming pubs and delightful cafés.

Besides the pubs and bars, you can also take the time to visit some of the dynamic night markets in town. Taiwanese snacks and other delicacies are available, and the markets generally open till late, so you’ll be able to browse to your heart’s content.

Joe and Ben founded a cosy little place which is a perfect marriage of a classic rock and roll bar and an elegant lounge. They encourage patrons to bring along their pet dogs to socialise with their own canine friend, Cai Bo. These are quite possibly the friendliest proprietors you will encounter, and perhaps one of the most relaxing lounges in this part of Hsinchu.
