The Boston Public Garden is a huge park offering a pond, statuary, art, and thousands of plants representing hundreds of native species in the oldest public garden on the continent. The garden was first founded in 1837 on land that was previously mudflats by philanthropist Horace Grey and became the first public botanical garden in the United States. The garden still stands today.
The land features a 4-acre pond, and groves of trees representing 26 different varieties and even more subspecies. Thousands of visitors flock here every year to relax, get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and just recharge their batteries.
