First of all the hotel is impossible to find because of closed roads and construction; we finally entered the name of a nearby restaurant in order to find an alternative route.
When we had parked there were three rough looking men smoking something else than tobacco sitting in the parking lot, so we hesitated to leave the car there, but reception assured us they must be guests if they had access to the parking lot...
After putting our suitcase in the room (overlooking a deserted backyard with abandoned houses), we went out to look for dinner.
After walking the wrong way we ended up in some shabby back street with vendors at every street corner; selling drugs or sex so we quickly walked back and found the restaurant recomended by the receptionist. It was closing, so the waiter recommended another place, that was also closed, but at least we could have a beer there. (Quai10), and the friendly waiter gave us a small bowl of cheese (!) iso the usual peanuts when he heard we hadn't eaten since lunch!
Back to the hotel room we went to bed, and the beds were ok, but the a/c didn'¨t work, so it was a very warm night with lack of sleep, but the advantage was that since we couldn't sleep, we could leave early...
This is my 2nd night at an Ibis hotel (last time was in Lyon 2 years ago), and after the 1st one I swore never again. This time I will stick to my promise...
