PROS: 1) Right on the beach, great view. 2) Spacious. 3) has a kitchenette with a full size fridge, microwave, oven, some cooking/utensils, coffee maker, toaster. 3) Volleyball court available 4) Good size pool available (from 3ft to 8ft deep); jacuzzi available. 5) Walking distance to stores and some restaurants.
CONS: 1) Very noisy. You can hear people’s conversations around you. Footsteps from above your floor. Floor creeks with every step. You would be awaken by noise coming from every direction so sleeping-in was not an option. 2) No A/C (but fans were made available). We kept our sliding door open to let some cool fresh air in but made the noise around our room more distinct. 3) Sliding screen door does not lock. We felt a bit uneasy for leaving the sliding door open while we slept. 4) Front door does not have an extra lock for safety while indoors. Actual metal keys were provided instead of the usual key cards. I’m not sure how easy it is for anyone (prior guests) to make extra copies and come back anytime. This thought made me feel unsafe since the door did not provide an extra layer of protection (chain or metal safety lock) while sleeping. 5) Bathroom sink is too low for tall people. My husband is 6’3 and he had to bend down awkwardly every time he needed to use the faucet/sink. In summary, would I stay at this place again? HARD NO. I think the only thing going for this motel-quality hotel is the view of the lake. We overpaid (more than $1200) for 4 nights.
