I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Regina Hotel. I thought it offered excellent value for money and its location was just superb. A 10 minute flat walk from the station past the main shops and tourist office. Just past the hotel and in you're surrounded by excellent eateries and all the key attractions are a short walk away.
All the staff - especially the night porter - were helpful when a problem was encountered. The bed was comfortable - although it had a leg splayed sideways which I only noticed on my last day but it held up OK! There was no armchair as such but the deskchair was comfortable. Other furniture was basic but adequate.
The shower and bathroom facilities were clean and worked well. I had 2 small balconies in my room, which was very pleasant. The building itself was a traditional French classic with lovely stonework and wrought iron balconies.
I'd avoid the breakfast: for 14 euros it was basic but did offer an array of meats and cheeses and bread. However, just outside the door there are cafes offering much fresher, more wholesome food - eg 'Petit dejeuner Tonique' for 10 euros in the Festival cafe next door included fresh orange juice, with a hot drink, lovely bread, jam & croissant.
An excellent hotel - I'm older, have mobility issues and was travelling alone but I felt safe and listened to. I'd happily stay here again.
