We traveled to Gubbio to attend the Festa dei Ceri. We selected this hotel because of the close proximity to town with the added benefit of free parking. Also, it included free Wi-Fi and had rooms with bathtubs.
Our room was nicely appointed with a blend of modern furniture and a beautiful antique, walnut dresser. Between the built-in closet and the dresser we had plenty of room to unpack. The room itself had ample space to spread out, including a sofa. The bathroom was very large. It came complete with robes and flip flops.
On our first night, we had an issue with the bathtub. The drain was stuck shut. Maintenance came up immediately to address the situation. Kudos to the staff!
The common areas of the hotel were beautiful. The artwork and furniture were all very classy and elegant.
The complimentary breakfast was quite extensive (particularly compared to other European offerings). It was akin to an American breakfast and included scrambled eggs and bacon as well as a wide assortment of cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses etc.
We had dinner at the hotel and the food was fantastic. Generally, we don't eat at hotel restaurants so we were pleasantly surprised. The meal was sophisticated and beautifully presented. The staff was attentive and welcoming. For a cold, rainy night in Gubbio, it was the perfect solution.
If ever in the area, I would definitely stay here again.
