This lodge is great in many ways – good food, friendly staff, knowledgeable guides and you can get really close to the animals. Very family-friendly with special activities etc for kids. Just don’t expect a fully-fledged wilderness experience – the lodge is just off the N2 highway. The area is not huge, and both their four lions and the two elephants are in separate enclosures. The third area has plenty of zebras, various antelopes, water buffalo and rhinos. There are also cheetahs, and we were fortunate enough to see one of them feasting on a fresh kill (a springbok). We had a spacious family room facing the two pools. Nice, clean and comfortable. The price includes two game drives in safari jeeps per day – one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. They serve coffee before the morning drive, and then a full breakfast buffet when you get back around 9am. Dinner is also buffet-style; food is great. They also have a spa at the premises. My wife and daughter tried it and were very happy with the service there. Finally, the guides/drivers know their stuff and can give a lot of information about the animals. Highly recommended.
