+ Fairly spacious for being Tokyo, we could push the beds to the walls and hence get more space
+ OK comfortable beds - but pillows were rock hard and small. The duvets were perfect.
+ Generously equipped with fridge, water boiler, toiletries etc.
+ Better breakfast than expected, with lots of japanese and some continental things
+ SUPER nice staff in reception + housekeeping!!!! Especially the lady in the reception and the one in housekeeping, but for being an avarage hotel the staff made it feel like a 5 star
+ Very clean rooms generally, even under the beds
- BUT lots of stains on walls/ceiling..... also mold behind the bathroom mirror
- Tiny, horrendous bathroom that made us feel like big fish in a tiny water bowl
- You got one real key and not key cards like modern hotels have, and the door was hard to open
- Window facing a concrete wall 40cm away. This was the biggest issue for me, and it's probably also the main reason I won't stay here again. At least we could open the window (about 20cm)
- Very hard to find the hotel for the first time. But choose Shinjuku Station SOUTH exit, then walk straight down the road to either Washington hotel or Park Hyatt, it will be easier to find from there. About 15min walk with lots of convinience stores on the way, that was nice.
+/-Giant stairs up to the hotel, but no stairs from the backdoor entrance.
Next time I'd rather pay more for something nicer
