Nice hotel situated north of Vieux Port (around 1 km) and close to locations such as la Major (the cathedral), MuCEM, and shopping malls (Le Rooftop des Terrasses and Les Docks). Many things are within acceptable walking distance (otherwise, Joliette station is right up the street).
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was always cleaned. The bed was very comfortable. The room's walls were a bit thin and some things (flushing pipes and murmurs) could be heard from other guests.
The layout of the room wasn't very thought-out - the bathroom sink was in direct view of the door (and not in the same room as the toilet, which stood in a separate room) and the door to the toilet had no lock. TV features such as YouTube and TED talks were not functioning (which was a shame since most channels in France dub English shows and movies), and I couldn't connect properly to the WiFi.
It was nice having a pool (towels and slippers can be collected at the main desk), but we didn't get much use out of it as the water felt quite cool (better for exercise than lounging). The hammam was nice, but incredibly noisy when emitting steam.
