When we arrive the staff is excellent and I can only give praise.
Neither me or my girlfriend are snobs and we didn't expect a luxury experience, but at least the high price and the four stars should mean something.
Our room was dirty on arrival, there was big cracks on the wall with grease spots on both floors and walls. The air conditioning loud and noisy. The placement of the bed, just in front of a light switch, meant that lighta got turned on and off during sleep (very strange placement). The room had carpeted floors, and on theese was another small carpet to cover up the stains on the floor. The interior was run-down annd full of cracks with pieces somtimes missing, same thing with the closets. On the day of departure we also found a big, big spider in the shower cabinet, not a biggie, but it kinda sums up the whole experience for us.
I would say that this hotel , in Scandinavian or English terms, hardley qualifies as a two star hotel. I would never recommend anyone to pay the price that they ask for their rooms. During our two week stay in italy and France we traveled around and experienced a lot of hotel with fewer stars and a lot lower prices, then the globe Cecil hotel, and they were all better in standard and accommodation. As I said in the beginging of the review the only thing that screams four stars about this hotel was the service from the personal.
