Resort was nice looking in lobby , once you get to room, not well taken care of toilet seats werent the proper size absolutely filled with mosquitos, beds were missing legs. The food was awful except for the jerk chicken stand by the pool. The crew and staff were helpful and nice but i can only assume that other resorts were much better maintained and cared for. We spent most of our time at the hard rock hotel because we werent able to fully enjoy ourselves at Riu Republica. I would not be visiting again or referring anyone.

Fun hotel, but not quiet and AC not the greatest.
Our stay was a week. The noise level was unacceptable at all hours of the night. The air conditioning worked but didn’t work well. We had mold in our bathroom above the door and around it from the humidity I assume. Room service did a great job cleaning the general area and making the beds, but the mold was always there.

A Fun experience
Despite some bad reviews I've seen, I found the resort to be a lot of fun, super big and has a lot of entertainment. There is also food for all tastes and quite a variety, the employees in all areas are very friendly and especially those in the buffet area La Altagracia and the Jerk Chicken that is near the beach is the best I have tried in years.

Let's just say I had booked a Xmas trip to Gambia to stay in the RIU hotel resort there, and I have just cancelled the hotel part of the trip, due to this experience staying here at DR's RIU hotel. - Rooms are outdated and need modernising. - Fridge stopped working, and all the ice defrosted leaving a massive pool of water in room. So had to change rooms. - Fridge made loud noises throughout the day and night. - No hot water to take showers in the evening. So had only cold showers in the evenings and you had to make sure you had a hot shower first thing in the morning, whilst "hot water was in the tank" 😡 - I wholeheartedly like tipping when the service is great, even in an all inclusive resort. BUT, being hassled with every mouthful of food, by their servers in the dinning rooms was a bit much! 😡 - This is a party hotel, and as such it's clientele are "loud, party people" If you want a classy experience in Punta Cana, this hotel is not it. I stayed at the Luxury "Serenade Suites" Hotel, which was so classy. Entertainment might not have been as good as the entertainment provided at the RIU but different strokes for different folks.

First and last time on this property. Makes me wonder is all the RIU properties are bad. I will start with the positive. The staff for the most part were friendly. Lots of things to do there. I’m not a party person, but it was fun to watch people. Spent most of my time on the beautiful beach. They have lots of lounge chairs. Have lots of activities and if you want to go to the other RIU party’s they will bus you. I only went to the white party and it was 4 hours of fun! The shows are really good and the dancers are amazing. You will get lots of steps. Takes about 12 mins from one side of the resort to the beach. The property itself is pretty. Try the Jerk Chicken, it’s amazing! Now the negative…… The key cards only work maybe 5 times before you have to go back to the front desk and get it reprogrammed. Absolutely no ventilation in the bathroom area and you might be lucky to get running water in the restroom. Upon arrival of our room we didn’t have towels in it, shampoo and hand soap were empty. Had to put in a request for that. They say they fill your room with 4 bottles (16oz) every two days. We never had it filled we had to keep going and getting water. Half the time the toilet wouldn’t work because the water didn’t work. After the white party all I wanted to do was shower. Went back to the room and we didn’t have running water in the shower, sinks, or toilet until 7am. (I have video of that but it would let me add them) You can see they paint over the mold in the room. I found two problems, sometimes in the morning There not water, not always but sometimes. The second problems are with the pool towels. If you don't take the towels early in the mornings, you will not have it. Then, the towels man, wants that your gave him tips for the towels. Beside that, everything was fine.

Ok all-inclusive but disappointed in the room. Its not as clean as we expect even a 3 star hotel. Hair amd dirt are on the bathroom floors cobweb dust on walls and ceiling. Everywhere in the property there is a musty smell and pockets of property you can smell the sewers. Only toiletries provided are conditioner, body wash and hand soap, no wash cloths even when I asked they just gave us more bath towels which are all gray and very rough/thinning. For the price of the room, a holiday inn express room was better. I get that we have access to unlimited food and drinks but even those were not really remarkable which is ok as they do a good job serving that many people. Overall it was on ok experience but Im underwhelmed compared to when we stay at other (non-inclusive) medium cost resort hotels.

This property is not 5stars at all! This place is rundown and dingy. The doors are dirty. The showers are rusty and moldy. The bathroom mirrors are a mess! The mirrors are broken and old. The elevators of the property barely work. The staff provide regular service. This place needs a severe update and make over. The food is trash. The speciality restaurants are buffet style!

The property is absolutely beautiful! Saúl is my favorite front desk person!!! At night, Mr. Lico was very helpful. However, the air in the RIU Republica made my daughter sick from the sewage, mildew & mold in the air. We enjoyed the restaurants and many food options. The Rock Station show & the 2 nightly singers on the RIU Stage was freaking awesome! The RIU parties were so good and this worker named Nulbia was very nice there to help me out with carrying our drinks and cleaning up our spills at the RIU parties. I'm not sure if my family will come back here because my daughter got sick from breathing the sewage, moldy, mildew air. Maybe I can return with just friends. By the way, my friend Jackie & I won a game of BINGO at the Macao Casino. It was a really good time!
