Hotel or halfway house?
Let me begin by saying the staff are brilliant, professional and friendly. When I complained at checkout I felt respected and as though my concerns were being taken seriously. 10/10.
Otherwise not much good to say about the place. It’s a budget hotel that seems to double up as a halfway house. I didn’t feel very secure there.
My first night, I shared a lift with a man so off his head I was both intimidated and worried about him. The second night there was a group drunks partying in the corridor. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my room. But it’s a rough part of town, the hotel can’t help that.
I could feel the springs in the mattress. The bed linen, while washed, had some old stains, the pillows were useless, ventilation in the room wasn’t working properly and kept resetting to 23 degrees, there was obviously water damage in the “hall”, wallpaper peeling off, bathroom panel coming loose, loose plug sockets. The room wasn’t dirty per se, but could do with a deep clean. The walls are thin which doesn’t go well with macerating toilets.
I did not sleep well at all.
