Lincoln Road Mall is a stylish walking street in Miami Beach, stretching for about a mile between Washington Avenue and Alton Road. The outdoor mall has been one of Miami's most popular gathering places for decades, attracting locals and visitors to shop, dine, relax, and browse its art galleries and markets.

You’ll find something for the whole family in the 200 retailers found here. Renowned brands such as H&M, Macy’s and Sephora sit alongside bespoke boutiques selling art and homeware. You could even find a yoga or Zumba class to join if you’re looking to exercise more than your credit card. Towering palms and Art Deco fountains add to the mall’s vivid tropical vibe, and the beach is just a few minutes’ walk away.

In addition to its rows of shops and restaurants, Lincoln Road Mall is also a hub for entertainment, hosting several events and live performances throughout the year. The mall is found in the heart of Miami Beach’s growing arts and culture scene, a short distance away from the Miami Beach Convention Centre, the New World Symphony, the Fillmore and other music and event venues.

What are the highlights of Lincoln Road Mall?

Known as the “Fifth Avenue of the South”, Lincoln Road Mall offers shoppers a mix of brand name stores like Gap and local boutiques along its 10-block length. When the mall opened in 1960, its Modernist promenade design was one of America’s first pedestrian-friendly outdoor shopping centres. Lincoln Road Mall has since expanded and evolved along with the city of Miami and remains a place to see and be seen as much as a shopping destination.

Lincoln Road Mall is also known for its outdoor cafes, great for dining in the shade of a colourful umbrella or people-watching while sipping happy-hour drinks. Visitors could just wander the mall and soak up its vibrant ambience with all the art galleries, street performers, and abundance of native plants and palms to see. Many of the mall’s structures and fountains were designed or inspired by Morris Lapidus – the architect famous for his Neo-Baroque “Miami Modern” style that has defined the look of the city.

Outdoor markets at Lincoln Road Mall

Lincoln Road Mall’s sunny outdoor setting makes it an ideal place to set up a market, and there are two held here regularly. The Lincoln Road Farmers’ Market is on every Sunday from 9 am to 6.30 pm on the section of the road between Washington Avenue and Meridian Avenue. You’ll find a fresh selection of fruits and vegetables, as well as flowers, plants and tasty takeaway goods like bread, jam and honey.

The Lincoln Road Antique and Collectible Market is held from October to May, usually on every second Sunday starting at 8 am. Some 120 vendors set up stands selling a range of nostalgia-stoking items like vintage clothing, jewellery, and antique furniture. The market’s a friendly and welcoming place, sometimes called “the soul of South Beach”, and you can also find some unique works of art here by local artists.
