The hotel is perfectly situated for a walk into town. The staff was very helpful, the woman at the reception had a smile giving that extra. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed, a great bathroom and a small hall with a fridge and I had plenty of space for luggage and clothes. I could hear traffic outside but after midnight it was quiet.
My seaview room had a small table and chairs in which I could sit looking out through the open glass doors until late night, having the most wonderful view of Funchal.
The rest of this review is about the breakfast. Absolutely one of the best I´ve had. Lots of hot and cold options and fruit. They also had show cooking where you could have scrambled eggs or omelette for which you could chose of six or so options of ingredients. I always bring gluten free bread on my trips, but the second day I asked if they have gluten free bread. The answer was “Do you want one or two slices?” and one minute later served on a plate. To sit in the breakfast room having breakfast looking out over the sea is the best start of a day.
If you want a lovely relaxing adult stay in Funchal then this is the hotel to chose. This was my first trip to Madeira and I have booked the next trip with my wife, already planning the third. Where do we stay? At this hotel of course, so if you can´t get a room with a sea view I may be one of those who have one of them, then book garden view.
I´m in love with Madeira and I´m in love with this hotel! You will be too.
