A cheap bed in central Paris for sure, but watch out. Yes, the staff is polite and easygoing, the rooms are quite clean and there is not much noise. The Metro (Belleville) is 1 minute away. On the other hand... The rooms looked like prison cells (paint falling off the walls, no bed light, no mats or decorations, a battered desk & chair, cushions hard as concrete). My first room smelled of urine. The smell came from the old, worn out pipes connected to the basin. I asked for another room and was offered a better one, which smelled of nothing but chlorine and was facing the yard instead of the street. IF you decide to book this hotel, have a good look at the room before you pay. What else; when I arrived two showers were in working order, but just about half of the toilets (the one next to my room was covered with a black plastic bag). When I left, only one shower remained intact (for ALL guests to share). The wi-fi (that you have to pay for) only worked daytime. Finally, the (unlocked) luggage room was also a storage room for paintbuckets, tools, dirty laundry and what have you. Enjoy!
