The Mirage Volcano is an iconic volcano sculpture that amuses guests and passersby with nightly eruption shows of sky-illuminating fire and music at The Mirage hotel and casino. Las Vegas is a city of strange and wonderful things, and the Mirage Volcano is one of the most explosively entertaining sights.
Since 1989, the Mirage Volcano has been creating a larger-than-life spectacle of explosions, fireballs, and epic music. The Volcano sits out front of the MGM Mirage at its Las Vegas Boulevard entrance and is one of the most recognisable features of all of Las Vegas.

Highlights of the Mirage Volcano
The eruption is a magnificent visual display of shooting fire and dancing water, accompanied by an auditory delight of classic rockers and a famous composer. The eruption draws a good-sized crowd because it is still considered a must-see part of the Las Vegas experience.
The entire experience is suitable for viewers of all ages. The show is very realistic in the sense that real pyrotechnics are used to create a visually explosive display, so up-close viewers get to feel the heat of the blasts, which adds to the overall excitement. The choreography of fire, water, and music is highly rated by those who have experienced it.

Good to know when visiting the Mirage Volcano
The Mirage Volcano performs its eruption show multiple times every single night at the top of certain hours. The earlier shows are busier than the later ones, and it’s recommended to show up early because some of the closest viewing spots fill up during those busier times. The volcano is easy to spot when you’re coming into the Mirage from Las Vegas Blvd.
The Mirage Volcano is one of a handful of the casinos’ streetside spectacles, and it's just up the road from the Bellagio fountains. Accessing the volcano is easy through public transport, and no ticket is required to view the eruption.
