The hotel was in itself sort of OK, but you do not get the quality of room and the services that you would expect from a 5 star. As is VERY common according to my experience, there was trouble getting the promised VIP Access Gold member benefits, even though I wrote an email and asked the hotel to confirm all details:
1) Room upgrade (if available) - asked for it both in writing and on checkin. They assured room was "already upgraded" since they said the 2 night 800 EUR stay in the exclusive room was upgraded to another exclusive room with better view (second floor towards a busy street). I had to return to reception twice to get a room upgrade which I eventually did. I felt fooled.
2) The 40 EUR in food and drink credits. I wrote, I asked, then upon checkout they tried to ADD 40 EUR to the agreed and already paid room price before they deducted the 40 EUR. I had to explain that since my room service was 50 and the credit was 40 and the room was already paid, it should come to 10, not 50. They corrected it of course, still waiting to get 200 EUR they reserved back on the account.
3) Late checkout two hours was offered. No text stating "if aviailable", only that if we want it is it ok. So I wrote this before arriving at hotel and when I later called reception to let them know we would checkout 2 pm they said only "if available".
All in all, I stayed at a luxury hotel and paid top money and felt like a poor cousin from the country having to beg for what I paid for.
