The hotel is on a fantastic public transport route and has lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby; however, the road outside can be noisy during the night and in the early mornings.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, provided me with all of the information I needed at check-in and also helped me with some bus travel routes.
I had a single room with a shared bathroom. The room was small, but well laid out with everything I needed. However, the bed was really quite uncomfortable - the wrought iron bedframe squeaked with every slight movement I made and I could feel the springs through the mattress - it seemed like a case of style over comfort (and in a hotel I much prefer comfort!)
The shared bathroom was just opposite my room. It was fine - although there was quite a wait for it a couple of mornings! As a single female traveller, something that bothered me slightly was not having a peephole in my room door - I would have like to quickly check the corridor before I went out to the bathroom in the middle of the night. It's not a big deal, but I was aware of it. Another thing is that with several rooms having shared bathrooms, it can get a bit noisy with room doors being opened/closed during the night. The rooms all have heavy yale-style locks that 'clunk' closed quite loudly. If you are a light sleeper - bring ear plugs!
Overall, the hotel has a great look and feel and a nice location - but not super comfortable.
