Firstly, the room has nice Scandinavian design and a nice bed. However, after checking in, I didn't get the welcome email until hours later. So I had to figure stuff out myself.
There are no cups. In the email, I’m informed I can get things somewhere else in the hotel, but it was already late at night.
I thought I had booked a room with a kitchenette, because of how Zoku markets itself, but my room didn't have that. Make sure to check the amenities of the room carefully before booking. Had I noticed there was no kitchenette, I would not have paid $1,500 for my 4 nights.
The room is pretty cold. The AC says it's 23.6 C. I tried turning up the heat, but it still said 23.6 C. The AC fan is really loud.
There is street noise and slamming doors from rooms.
The kettle needs cleaning and shower faucets too. The floors need work. There are many holes in the plastic and dirt is stuck in the holes. There’s dirt in the corners of the room.
The "sidekicks" are supposed to be a friend during your trip. I called a sidekick, and she seemed like she wanted to hang up as soon as possible. How the hotel is marketed is not actually implemented. If you are planning a longer stay, don't count on being pampered by the sidekicks.
There is shower gel and shampoo provided. The shampoo is weird. I’m suspicious that it was actually shower gel.
All in all when I think about what I spent on this room, I feel cheated.
I emailed Zoku with my concerns over a week ago. I have gotten no reply.
